Sure, I lurk more than I contribute -- but I am personally offended by that remark. I am a smartass, but I have a wee bit of restraint.
I appreciate this community of people who have a lot more experience than I do and can help me minimize frustrations and maximize fun. Eventually, I hope to have more to contribute.

I like it here because we can BS about otherthings becides jeeps every once in a while. We can all take a little ribbing and noone gets upset. But no outright flameing goes on.

By smartass i mean those who come in just to argue, fight and start are mashed.
Yes the motivational picture thread was one of my better ideas, LOL.

I really do not know when the site first opened, but I got here about 4 months ago. I a member of early CJ5 but I did not really like the vibe. I mean he has a site over there that could be a really killer site, and the info there is great, but it feels clickish. Kinda like "we know everything there is to know". And you can not convince them they do not.
Guys, we just found out about Alaskan Postal Jeeps, and had a lot of fun doing it. WOW, who knew and during that conversation, we set up to find out about foreign made Jeeps. I will be looking up a few numbers when I get a few free moments. And all that without anyone calling anyone a name. Sheesh some forums would have members ready for WWIII by now actually doubting the number of Jeeps made. But I believe we have attracted a better class of members here, we are open minded enough to check out stuff. I know we have an extreme amount of knowledge about CJs here, I mean I am amazed at the stuff that comes out. I also am running here with a lot of CJ7 guys and am learning a lot every day. I like the 71 and earlier CJ5s and have studied them for years, but suddenly something new pops up here and I either learn something, or I have to research something for an answer. I love it.
I love the way CJ lets us joke and kid as long as we do,not totally hijack a thread. I also think we are building a different kind of forum here, What I mean is we do not get upset about modded or frankenjeeps, infact we kinda encourage ways to upgrade jeeps to a more modern state. I think we love the things but agree technology moves forward.
Well you asked, those are the reasons I really love the site. I can tell you, as we grow, and we keep up the general direction we are going, We will be a huge site with information about CJs that will help keep them on the road nomater what your intrest is, origonal, restored, modded or frankened, and will be a great site to be proud we all were here at or near the beginning.

The same goes for me even the restraint part. All of you who make this place informative and entertaining are the reason this is now the first 4wheel website I visit for knowledge and fun.
I like CJ's. Actually I love CJ's. I considered myself obsessed at one point in my life and I knew every motor/tranny/Transfer Case and axle combo from every single year Jeep CJ ever made. It was sad actually. I forgot some of it and I even backed away from working on my CJ5 for awhile but I never sold it and the love is coming back. Now I want to work on it, show it off to other CJ lovers and just talk about CJ's in general. This is the place to be for that. I also love sharing my knowledge with others who have questions.
I think it has a lot to do with the vehicle itself, it represents a very small segment of the 4x4 world. as I have said in the past you can't buy your way in, you can buy a CJ but to actually own one takes a lot of work.
I enjoy all y'all company, I can be a smart <-BAD WORD-> from time to time and find people with at least as warped sence of humor as mine ( Manudo with hair) you guys are the guys I would like to set around a fire drinking reasonably cold beer with.
I am impressed with the information available It seems that when I have a situation there is always some one who has already had it and or done it and even took pictures of it. The amount of reference material and experience is one of the most incredible treasures I have ever stumbled upon.
I am proud of you guys, I am proud of your rides, they are all awesome. A few just slightly more awesome than others, but still. I am proud of the newbies that come in and want to be CJ guys and some actually make it, and some have no connection at all between hands and brain and you just want to take them aside and tell them "son, sell that thing to some one with an aptitude and buy a Hummer."And then we have our new "one barrel carter carburetor guru"
I am quite proud of him and the support and encouragement every one has given him. I can't wait to see how that turns out. He would have been flamed and and exiled to Siberia on any other site I have been in.
to sum up; it's the people the machine and the attitude.
It's a CJ thing, if I have to explain it to you you won't understand.

Like a lot of others, I visit here almost daily, but don't post much. IO, you hit the nail on the head there. Those of us who aren't great mechanics or multi generation Jeep owners can ask questions that would get us laughed off other sites.
Good to see you take the young guy under your wing. That says a lot about you and the rest of this crew.
I enjoy my daily dose of CJ.com almost as much as driving and piddling with the CJ7 .

I like this site for the Knowledge other folks are will to give you. I knew a lot about CJ's but I was shocked at the true Lack of the Knowledge I had. The more articles and post I read I still find something new. Many Thanks for a Great CJ Jeep site
