I think it has a lot to do with the vehicle itself, it represents a very small segment of the 4x4 world. as I have said in the past you can't buy your way in, you can buy a CJ but to actually own one takes a lot of work.
I enjoy all y'all company, I can be a smart <-BAD WORD-> from time to time and find people with at least as warped sence of humor as mine ( Manudo with hair

) you guys are the guys I would like to set around a fire drinking reasonably cold beer with.
I am impressed with the information available It seems that when I have a situation there is always some one who has already had it and or done it and even took pictures of it. The amount of reference material and experience is one of the most incredible treasures I have ever stumbled upon.
I am proud of you guys, I am proud of your rides, they are all awesome. A few just slightly more awesome than others, but still. I am proud of the newbies that come in and want to be CJ guys and some actually make it, and some have no connection at all between hands and brain and you just want to take them aside and tell them "son, sell that thing to some one with an aptitude and buy a Hummer."And then we have our new "one barrel carter carburetor guru"
I am quite proud of him and the support and encouragement every one has given him. I can't wait to see how that turns out. He would have been flamed and and exiled to Siberia on any other site I have been in.
to sum up; it's the people the machine and the attitude.

It's a CJ thing, if I have to explain it to you you won't understand.
