1965 CJ6, 4 cyl, 3 speed with overdrive, 33" tires and I believe it may have been a forest service vehicle at one time.
Here is my Willys CJ6 that I am fixing up. If anyone has any ideas or parts that could help me make it better let me know. I really need a top, winch and some fender flares. I was thinking a long whip antenna and CB radio would be cool. A set of stock seats and frames would be cool. Does anyone know where I can get a rear swinging spare tire holder? So much to do!!!!! I love this Jeep!

I was shocked that I had found one that was rust free.

Very nice 6, I love it the way it is.:chug:

I did'nt think I liked long wheelbase CJ's till I saw your's! it's pretty cool....but I would loose the stairs if it were mine.:D
I had a pair of early CJ seats but are gone now, I still have the rear but looks like you have the original? I do have an old CB you can have that came in a box of parts with my 5, I'm not sure if it's any good but can check if interested.

that is just too cool for words.

Any help I can get would help. Can you check if the CB will power up?

I have been trying to convince my wife that we need to get a Tiger Top since the two car covers that I currently cover it with let rain in if it is more than a sprinkle. She has been against it because Christmas is coming and we are watching our budget. Last night I went to her again to see if our finances were good enough to go ahead and order a top. She said that we are close but still needed to wait until after Christmas. Then my prays were answered...... I asked if she had got the mail (She said no.). I went out and checked the mail and guess what was in it. A check from the V.A. It seems they haven't been paying me the right amount for about a year. Crazy thing is.... The check was for the exact amount that the top plus shipping cost! I am blessed!

Here is a newer picture. Notice I painted the steps black?

Well.....It looks good, better than I remember but put 12v to it and proceeded to go thru 3 fuses before I stoped. When I get a chance I will pull the cover off and see if something is obvious. Stay tuned for more.

You now have a new school old school rig. cool

Very nice! I'd give it a very mild 2" lift and call it a day.

2 more inches? It already has a 2" shackle lift. The man I bought it from said it is a 4" lift, but I think it is only 2".

Wow I dig that 6! Keep the pictures coming man. I love to see these things being taken care of instead of rotting away in someones barn

Maybe the 4" has sagged to 2". It looks good as is but the tires are so close to the body they look like they may hit going over a big bump. I think a few inches would make it look better :)

What would be the cheapest way to lift it up higher?

Be sure to fill out you profile with more info about the CJ6 .
But what engine does it have?

It has the hurricane four which seems to run great. Maybe the only draw back is that the jeep tops out at about 60 mph. I love the gearing for off roading though. Thank God it has Overdrive !
