Should have my 4.0 head next week putting it on my 83 CJ7 . Wanted to know which header should I use I'm in Ca so it needs oxygen sensor. I like the borla but need to know which one.
Any suggestions

I used a '93 XJ header. It also has the O2 port and provides a very similiar output angle in comparison to the the old AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l exhaust manifold. Made attaching the exhaust very easy.

I'm using a factory cherokee exhaust that I paid $25 for, saw no need in spending $500 for anything aftermarket. Don't remember exactly what year but 87-90ish? rings a bell. It's tubular with a 2-1/2" outlet that points in the right direction for a CJ, so far so good. One thing though is it is tight at the PS pump bracket that requires a small dent in the header or trimming the pump bracket.

That's the same one I used. Mine being a '93 however, doesnt look like anything changed :chug:

I like the clifford header , it has two 02 sencers do I block off one?

That header is a 2-piece, therefore it has 2 bungs for the option of running dual exhaust. Most people will use a collector however, and run single exhaust. My advice is to plug those bungs and use the one that "should" be on the collector...or have one welded into the collector if it isnt there.

I take it you are using the FI from the original 4.0? Or an aftermarket FI system?

Installing the Howell with the 4.0 head . Would it hurt plugging one bung then use the other?
I also need to find a intake that will work.

I dont know if that would be an issue with a visual inspection or not  Technically, it would only be reading one half of the engine's total O2 output and I dont really know if the O2 sensor goes off of a percentage or not. It might throw codes, I really dont know...that's a good question.
