What to do next?

I am building a 1980 CJ7 w/304ci - I have installed Ruff Country 4" lift - Swamper 34-10.5-15 tires - removed smog stuff from engine. What should I do with the drive train? Any thoughts would help to make the diffs ect.. stronger. Maybe swap out to ford 9"? Or would 1 peice axils work OK? Thanks for all the help.

Hello Gary and welcome to the site!

There are many, many things you could (and should) do but they are going to really depend on your budget and your mechanical aptitude.

What do you plan on doing with your CJ? Can you weld or have access to a welder? How about fabrication equipment and such?

Regardless of the above questions your AMC20 is going to break if you don't fix it or change it - those are some awfully large tires for those flanged axles.

If you give us some information ion what and how you plan on using that CJ and include some skill and budget info - we can all help with what we think will be best.
