Hi Guys,

i'm Tim and i'm new to this forum. Please forgive me if I didn't post it correctly or in the right category.
i am the proud owner of 2 JK wranglers and since of few weeks also owner of a Classic Jeep. According the papers it is a CJ-5. But I live on Curacao and the papers are often unreliable here.

The car is leaking a lot of oil and I am looking for a new valve cover. But to know which valve cover I need, I first have to know exactly what kind of car I bought. I don't think it's an original jeep. Unfortunately, the previous owner couldn't give me much information either. I was told by a friend that it might be a combination:

chassis, engine, gear box and transmission from a DJ5 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l of 4.0 6 in line
Some parts of a CJ-5
new fiberglass body

Sold between 1993 and 1995

is anyone familiar with this model or recognized the story of the combination?

I will send pictures of the car as an attachment.

Please help :)

Kr Tim

Welcome without pictures it's going to be hard to tell what you have Jeep's are notorious for being a hodge podge of parts even more so if the previous owners messed with it

Lots of pictures

Yes. I can

Definitely a CJ5 of some year. As far as the engine looks like a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l of 80s generation and id ditch that plastic valve cover for an aluminum one

Looks like a salvage Florida VIN.

I'm with Manic...think it was cobbled together
