Am I the only one that thinks glasspacks make your motor sound like a popcorn machine on steroids? I am running 2 1/2" dynomax units just cuz I can't afford the flowmaster super 44's.(a three week old baby girl changes alot) I love the sound and resonance you get from a big chambered muffler.
My little AMC 304 rattles windows and sets off car alarms cruisin' at 1500 rpm's and I get a chuckle every time I go to work in the morning. Every time I hear glasspacks I expect to see a beat up old ford with 10" of lift, stock tires, and Tasmanian devil mudflaps.:D
I know it's all about what makes ya happy, so to each his own, but I can't wait to get my hands on a set of super 44's.

I love my "Flowmasters".:punk:

i had a glasspack on mine but took it off. driven a 55 mph for 20 minutes to my work gave me a headache. now i run a flowtech raptor and love it. rumble at idle, loud goin through the gears but at about 45mph and above it gets quite. i got this muffler through my work for $25.

My flowmasters are way to loud for me. I guess I'm getting old :(

I like my blown-out glasspacks...too bad my neighbors aren't so fond of them at 0500!
I will be changing them out for something else as I get the CJ running again. But my trail-only truck will be sporting a set, you better believe it! :)

Back in the day (that makes me feel old...) Stan would throw glass packs into a fire to burn them out :) Make em louder.

I prefer Flowmaster.

flowmasters. Rarely drive the CJ on the roads as it is more trail duty. But when I do, prefer not to attract unwanted attention.

give me a set of cherry bombs any day

straight headers, shot flames and hated it after 10 mins.

Glasspacks behind the 360. Love it. Doesnt bother me one bit. I have no radio in the CJ5 cause quite frankly I like to listen to the tune it plays me.

Ha! did someone say Cherry bombs?
th_1030090824a.webp
set of headers, straight pipes into Cherry bombs even this old guy love the sound!!!

I had sidepipes with built in glasspacks on mine, didn't sound all that bad,but was pretty obnoxious at times. Then I made a set with Thrush Welded mufflers(same as Flowmaster 40),still plenty loud, but with a little deeper tone and not quite as harsh.

i have 2 1/2 Dynomax on mine as well. In frame headers, all the way to the rear bumper. I just came in from the garage, thinking I would like alittle bigger sound, but thought of my neighbors. I do like the sound. I think some bigger tips will give it a bigger sound.

So your saying the dynomax are half way quiet?

Let me put it this way. You know it's running but the wife won't complain. It sounds good at an idle, but "I" think it quiet's down the higher the RPM.

I've been looking for something quieter than my flowmasters :chug:

I would trade you if we could. I would love a set of Flowmasters. I think it makes a big difference if they exit in front of the back tires or at the bumper too.
