Just curious what everyone's criteria is for taking off the ol' ragtop.

My answer isn't on the poll, but the first day that feels warm enough to ride topless, it comes off for the summer. That day was a 42* sunny day late last month:driving:

I dont think Ive had the hard top off in 20 years....my age must be showing, when I was in high school, the top was off sometime in March, if it was above 45 degrees, Id take it off, and leave it off except for rain.

Now that Ive made it "over the hill", and Im aware of my health risks (my family is predisposed to skin cancer ), I keep it on, and run half doors, thats as "risque" as I get anymore. Ive got a sports car that doesnt even have a top if I need to "get my open top fix".

It's actually kinda funny, my Jeep ruined traditional convertibles for me.

I run with the windshield down unless it's raining and I need it up for the bikini top, which for me feels almost about the same as riding a motorcycle. A relative needed me to drive his S2000 while he was moving, and it was kinda boring actually. I mean, it was fast, it was fun, but having the windshield in front of me made me feel confined.

Wierdest feeling ever, lol.

My response isn't there either......... I have a soft top but I leave it off all year. I am ready to put on a bikini to keep the sun off my balding head. Later, when the PM thunderstorms get going, I may put the soft top on until October.

I am taking the heater out, permanently. The AMC 304 puts out just enough heat in "winter" here at 30 North. The climate is perfect for Jeeps.

Haha were the same age, Mine doesnt come off.

I usually take the hardtop off right around now, middle of April(ish). Store the hardtop in the shed and put on the bikini top, the doors are optinal for the rest of the summer. Until September(ish) when the hard top will go back on for the snowy season :)

I don't have a hard top. I do have a full soft top but that hasn't
been on since I ripped a hole in it (damn tree) a year or so ago.
I usually keep my bikini top on to keep the sun and bugs off my head.

bikini top as well......get alot of stares in winter and pulled over 3 times this winter for suspicious vehicle.....lol

I do a little at a time.Last week the doors came off.Today the back window came off.Hope to have the top off by first of May (maybe next weekend) until it cools off in mid October

Year round Bikini top.
For the summer months - which around here usually runs from the end of March until Halloween - to keep the sun from making a crispy critter outa me.

And for those fairly rare days when it rains to keep the water off my glasses.

Well mine comes off the day before i get out for spring break every year, and stays off until about late september to mid october when it decides to get too cold. Unless its raining and a lil ole gal wants to go out for an adventure, then it goes back on real quick. :D

It really BITES getting old! Mine stayed on all last year to keep me and the dog from getting cooked or froze depending but the doors and side curtains come off when warm, getting close now.:D

Just got mine home, with the original soft top and a big tear. One door looks like it had been rolled over, so it looks like a bikini top all year. Maybe a soft top later sometime since it seems to like to rain for a short moment while Im tailgating about half the time I go

I'm closest to answer 3 in the poll. A couple warm dry days strung together and the half hardtop comes off. It's Bikini and Windjammer and Doors when needed and open air for the rest of the summer. Probably pulling the lid on saturday.

cheers,

Kim

Doors off, side panels off, and back off all year. Top comes off over 70 degrees - well, 60. Ok, sometimes 50, but ill wear a jacket!
