Where do these braces go?

Need help getting those four tubular braces under the battery tray figured out. It's an '80CJ5 and I think two connect between the firewall and the fenderwell and at least one goes up to the battery tray but it's been too long since I removed them and it's not as obvious as I originally thought (bet you've never heard that before!!). Pictures would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Four? Mine only has three. Did a google image search and found this pic;

The third brace overlaps the lower of the two in the pivture, from there it goes to the fenderwell. Hope this helps

Huh , either I'm missing a brace, or that's just another difference between the 5's and the 7's?

I am in the process of rebuilding my 80 CJ5 . I have over 600+ pics of everything as I break it down, so if you need pics then let me know. I am over 75 ziploc baggies of parts.

I need to start a thread on it.

Terrific response guys. I'll get it together first thing on Monday. This was a side affect of replacing the heater core. Decided I would also replace the corroded battery tray and provide better access to the heater box bolts....then the braces needed some TLC....then the firewall inside and out, then I noticed a stripped out plastic hole on the defroster duct, too much trash in the fresh air intake and BTW the cable assemblies didn't seem to work very smoothly...you know how it goes. I've basically rebuilt the entire heater/defrost system and Rustoleum'd some surface corrosion. It will look nicer and be something I won't have to do later. Thanks Again for the pictures, I'll try and return the favor and show the same area with everything cleaned up a bit.​

Your not missing anything. It's just one more way 7's are better than 5's

Thanks Again for the pictures. I made efficient use of my lunch today...here's the pictures I promised with the braces back on and then with everything else bolted back on. Irmodog, the brace that the person in the picture was holding should be turned around so that the end with the "slot" is bolted to the firewall/fender. That one had me going for awhile .
