Hey y’all,

I got a ‘72 CJ5 that I took the dash apart and steering out, and am now getting it back together. I took the brake pedal return spring off, but now I can’t figure out how it goes back in there… I attached images below of what I’m workin with.
Maybe someone could take a pic of what they got on a similar year?

Thanks y’all

I don't currently have any old pics right now but what does the spring look like? From your pics I placed red circles on the obvious locations I can see. (stay clear of the hose clamps  )

So I measured the distance between those two locations and the distance is ~4in. The spring that I have right now (and just broke) is about 7in. Judging by the rats nest wiring I went through from the previous owner though, more than likely he could’ve rigged it somewhere it shouldn’t have been. Should I just get a spring that fits between those two holes and call it a day?
