1979 CJ7, no engine, unknown transmission, unknown transfer case. Inherited vehicle, not sure what all is in it yet. I will update this once I get to inspect it closer, and can identify its equipment.
I got metal doors for my CJ7 , and they won't shut because there is no catch for the doors, on the body. Below are some pics. I've been looking around, but its a bit unclear what I actually need to buy. Can someone please post up a pic of what it is that I actually need, to put on my jeep so that the doors with latch and stay closed?

Not real sure of the year, but here are the pics of the door/s

You need to get latches for a '80 CJ I wish I could post a pic but I can't right now.

Looks like this

You will also need to create a box to mount between this and the wall of the tub.

Or you could look for some pre 82 doors (IIRC) that have the latch that is correct for your year. They would have the lever style handle as opposed to the paddle style you have.

Could you please post a pic, or a link to this box you're referring to?

Sure. I don't know if the one I have is stock or not. I have a glass tub so behind that striker is a metal box to make that striker not sit against the tub wall. It will bring the striker toward the seat. I took pics and posted it somewhere so I should have them. I will look.

The box has a part that comes to the edge of the doorway with nuts that these screws go into to hold it against the tub.

Inside the striker assembly looks like this

And at quadratec you can buy the parts and fab something on your own (maybe)

I went out and looked at my '78 that has been changed over to the newer paddle style doors and there is a brace that runs down the back side of the door and the latch is riveted to that. so if you have a stock tub you will not need to make anything you may just need to make a notch for the striker.

Agreed. I figured mine was there for the glass tub. Looking at the pic above, some support may be needed.

i did not need the "box" on my 86, just the striker plate pictured earlier.

Thanks for the help all. Much appreciated.

So what are the door catches supposed to look like, that are currently on my CJ's body? You can see them in my first pics. I can't really tell what that was originally supposed to be, and I'm curious about it.

This what you need to get the new style doors to work.
