Why are the edit tools turned off when making a new post?

Why are the edit tools turned off when making a new post? They are turned on when editing a legacy post imported from the old site but off for posts generated since the transfer.

I tried to post this in SITE RELATED, but that link doesn't work.

Okay... I get it. You have to toggle the BB code gear all the way to the right in order to engage the editing tools.

I temporarily enabled your permission to edit. The minimum time post threshold to edit had expired for that forum.

Titles are only edible by an Admin. Just put your new title in your reply to this post.
BTW, the reason why edits are restricted is it keeps spammers from going back to legitimate looking posts that they created and then changing them to bad posts like porn types.
