Hi everyone,

For me, the reason that I liked CJ is because of its legendary toughness and the macho look that it has that really intrigued me and I am really looking forward to get one and build/re-build it.

It has been a little tough to find a good condition CJ here in the city, because due to mining boom a while back, many of the CJs have been bought up by many mining companies and being moved to their mines.

I'm not an owner of CJ or anything, yet. But I am looking forward to get one and I just wanna know why you love your CJs?

I as you, love the look. Also - the ability to go just about anywhere in relative safety and security knowing that you'll be getting home is great. Nothing beats heading out to find that great spot to do a little camping, fishing and recreating!

I also enjoy the looks from people who understand what and how old it is and then compliment or reminisce about it...

Jeeps are just so complete. They are tons of fun, they are convertables, fairly small and light, can go anywhere, you can drop in or soup up a v8 pretty easily, have enough room to throw stuff in the back, if it doesn't fit in back it will fit on a trailer they can tow, they are antiques, easy to work on, the list could just go on. Plus, a small lift and some tires is all you need to make them look bada$$!

They're ROMANTIC! It's a part of our history, It carried soldiers to war, and back to safety. It holds a place of reverence with commanders and foot soldiers all over the world that fought in and behind them, and they helped win a world war. Generations of young boys and girls learned to drive on them, while they served duty on the farms across our country, and across the world. Wether new or beaten to a pulp, they hold the passersby attention when shiny new, and admiration for honerable service when beaten. They bring a smile to those that see them, and get under your skin when you own one. No other vehicle will inspire you to go outdoors and into the wild like a Jeep, and they remain a conduit to freedom for all that love them. Fishing, hunting, camping, and wheeling. Not to mention just cruising around and heading out to the beach for the day. they supply hours of "tinkering" for those so inclined, and their are aftermarket manufacturers of toys and parts to help keep them going forever! History, legacy, and freedom. Not one single other vehicle on this planet has the earned that place in history. And I feel every bit of it when I turn that key.:notworthy:

WOW! Post of the year! That almost brought a tear to my eye... :)

I'm sitting here giddy as little school girl right now as I think about all the times my CJ and I had together (good and bad).

I just remembered the time I taught a girlfriend how to shift with her foot! We were on the way back from Wekiva Springs in central FL. The weather was beautiful and warm, we were driving back and I let her take the wheel. The first time she popped that CJ from 1st to 2nd by putting the shifter between her toes it was a victory and a celebration... Sounds kinda dumb but...

Oh the little triumphs our CJ's have seen!

:) My very first memories of real big guy freedom was behind the wheel of an old MB, ridin the fields, totin an old Marlin single shot .22 rifle to quell the herds of rabbits. I felt the king of the world climbing into that old relic, pumping away on the gas and waiting for the first spit of fire to give it life. the sweet smell of leaded gas and oil filling the air in the shed next to the barn where she lived. Just like you, I have hundreds of fond memories made in a Jeep. Warm summer days after school with a pretty girl next to me, crankin up the Beach Boys and cruising the strip in town. Cool nights by a campfire, leaning against the tire of the CJ that got me deep into the woods where no one else would bother to go, just to enjoy the quiet. Days in the garage, drinking cold beer, hanging with buddies listening to a ball game while tinkering away on the "Jeep of the day". Is there anything better than realizing all of a sudden, My God it's a beautiful day! dropping everything, grabing the keys, and lighting the fire in old faithful, so you can squeeze in just one more memory. I guess that if you stop long enough to think about it, most jeep people have loads of stories and memories of their own. It's kind of a corny saying, but "only in a Jeep" has special meaning to an awful lot of us! :chug:

I'm not gonna lie, but all I need to say is two words and someone I'm sure will get it.
Daisy Duke,

I loved the girl and the jeep, I just knew as a young man if I had the jeep I'd get the girl. Owned a jeep every chance I could, sometimes I had to sacrifice and sell the jeep to pay bills as a 2nd vehicle wasn't needed.
But now I have the ole'girl again and I'm hanging on to this one as long as I can. Even my wife likes it, and my boy loves riding around the yard on dads lap.

Nothing like a sunny day with no top going nowhere in no hurry. :chug:

I've had a love affair with the short Jeeps ever since high school, whe I got a '47 CJ2a with a Chebby 327 stuffed under the hood as a early graduation present.
Even tho it turned out to be a POS, the attraction continues to this day :)
