Although I have heard people pronounce it "Willeez" I believe the correct pronunciation is "Willis" as that is how the company founder , John North Willys, pronounced it. I also submit that you don't call it a "Chevrolet's Nova" Or "Ford's Mustang" and so a "Willy's Jeep" would not be inline, either. Checking pics of the one Willys-Overland I owned shows no apostrophe on the windshield name tag, either.
To support my contention I submit actual recordings of Willys-Overland employees in official training films:
Willys Sound Bytes
as well as reference guide pronunciation aids:
John North Willys (of Overland) biography
Wiki also supports me but I try to avoid Wiki as any kind of legitimate source.
Obviously there most be some reason for the other pronunciation but I can find nothing like documentation to support it.
So, if you could answer with some supporting documentation for your belief either way without name-calling or the like I'd like to know what is "right."
Thank you.
