Hey guys im new to the forum and I just got my first jeep its an 86 CJ7 . I am pretty mechanically inclined so i intend on doing all repairs on my own. My first issue that I need help with is my windshield wipers do not seem to swipe a full rotation. the passenger side goes all the way side to side but the important wiper (drivers side) only goes up 90* from its rested position. does anyone have any suggestions?

is the drivers side wiper resting at horizontal??
it is not supposed to.
the arm may also be worn out, that happens often.

well its not quite horizontal but it is resting lower than the passenger side. so if it is worn out that would be the linkage needing to be fixed or replaced and not the motor itself right?

cool thanks for the info i will try to re clock it first but thats not a bad deal for a longer sweep and new arms and blades so i will probably end up doing that real soon.

Pulling the wiper arms can be a little tricky but if you can pull straight off they will usually come off. Remember, with that upgrade you have increased the amp draw on the motor and decreased the leverage it has on the blade. This means that snow and mud can cause your wiper motor to terminate it self. I don't think you are going to have problems with much snow but you should keep this in mind when you have 1/2 inch of Georgia clay on the glass.:D
