Windshield change question

- 58/79 frankin CJ5 (mostly 79 renegade but will be 50's retro with 79 running gear). 59 Willys wagon (daily driver), 55 Ford Mainline, 73 Cougar convert, 63 VW bug, 46 Packard Clipper, 32 Ford truck. 2009 jeep Wrangler 4 door. 86 Toyota Corolla
I've got a odd project going on and was wondering if anyone has put an older windshield on a newer (78) CJ5 . Here's my issue: I've got a 78/79 Renegade frame, engine (AMC 304 ) and running gear, someone tacked on the back of a 58 tub, the cowl and sides are 58, The dash, firewall and front floors 79 Renegade . the windshield is off a 56 but leans back like the newer Cj's and I'm looking to shim it or whatever it takes to make it stick upright a little more for a couple reasons, I'd like this to look more vintage (50's) and fitting a soft top to a 50's body would need the windshield measurements to match right? anyone ever shim one of these? any ideas or help would sure be appreciated. Thank you.
