also if any one knows how to repair a motor, that would also be great... my motors turn on, but do not move the arms.... very strange to me..

I haven't taken the wiper off on a CJ yet, but on your second thing have you taken the arms off and seen if the shafts are turning? If they are the wiper arms are stripped and need replaced if not the possibly something wrong with the wiper Transmission . ( The arms that run the wiper arms that is connected to the wiper motor).

yes, i have removed the arms, and the shafts do not spin. i figured something was stripped, which i why i needed to remove it. hopefully i can repair it.. i dont want to buy new ones.. lol

Never seen that yet. Post a picture of the inside of the window frame for me if you get a chance.

Are the motors electric or vacuum?

If they are vacuum - about the best thing you can do is covert them to 12v. If it's electric, and you don't mind a little work, it is usually the brushes. You can take them out and most automobile electrical shops will have some that can work, or they can usually rebuild the motor for you at a reasonable cost.

If you don't want to mess with the hassle of rebuilding it and are on a budget - this should work (you need new arms though) -->> ELECTRIC WIPER MOTORS : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories

To remove the wiper you will need to pull the arm and then the motor comes off from the inside (if I remember correctly). Take a look at the picture... :)

Have you gotten anywhere on this yet?

ya, ive taken the pics... i just cant find my cable for the camera. lol if i cant find the cable tmmrw, ill just buy a new one.. Thanks for checking up with me tho.

Hay I can understand that. I just had to get a new cable for my camera, cheep but annoying.

Have you figured out what is going on with the wipers? You could always tie a string to both sides and put them through the wing windows. Just kidding just wanted to see how it was going.:)

well, i finally got the wiper motors off... and took them apart.. one of the gears is missing like 4 teeth on it... but i still dont think that is the problem.. so im still stuck on where to go with this... my camera is still unfortunelty broken, so i cant take any pics unless its with my phone... but they wouldnt be very good.. im also in a huge time crunch since school is about to start...

Years ago when I had my 67 CJ5 the vacuum wipers sucked. I got two 12 volt wiper motors from JC Whitney. They were easy to install and worked great.

well i got the motors off..they were just stuck on there really good.. haha i feel like an idiot..
No reason to feel that way! If you weren't sure you did the right thing... You don't want to break something when you don't need to! :)
