Hi there - i took my dash off and now rewiring it back together. I thought i had labelled everything but guess not. I bought new illumination lights (not sure what they are called) for each of the console controls (fan, heater, defrost, wipers, etc) and no problem wiring the lights for everything except the illumination light for the headlight switch itself. I thought it might come from t he wire coming out of the light switch itself but it always as power.

I know i can splice and run another wire over to the lights but wondering if anyone can tell me where the wire for the light illumination switch originates

Attached is some pictures to help explain what I am asking for

First, should be the same style connector that is on the ground wire in the pic.
If that can't be seen then from the turn signal connector (long and flat and mounted on the column) find the orange wire. Follow that to the splice. There will be 5 wires. One should go to the fuse block, one to the wiper light, one to the splice for the gauges etc, one to the headlight.

Look around the wiper light connector. You may have "lost" it around there.

The wire that always has power is most likely the interior courtesy lights.

Here you can go to view and /or download a color diagram of the wiring.
