So people keep telling me this saying but there is nothing simple to this to me....I need someone to make this idiot proof so it the yellow wire will go here the white wire will go here the blue and black wire you will connect to a butt connector and run another wire to here....... I'm absolutely horrible at reading wiring schematics and have them all, Chilton, Haynes, EZ, Painless and a couple others from this site, I just am obviously doing something wrong. I just need help with the tail lights to the blinker....Stop, Park, Running, and Turn...

Only reason I jumper back to the wiring cause it's Alot easier to get the wires tied up under the gas tank with the gas tank removed.

Please Help thanks :chug:

Brown wire gets split and ran to one leg of each tail light and your tag light. That will function as your park/driving lights

Green wire goes to the other leg of the passenger side tail light as your blinker

Yellow goes to to the other leg on the drivers side tail light as your blinker

Make sure your getting a good ground also. Those lights ground through the screws that attach em to the body. Ive made my own ground wire that are atttached to the housing and are gerounded to the frame. If the light is hanging loose they will not work. got to be grounded.

Thank you. :chug:

What about the side marker lights?

So they did not give me a schematic for the blinker arm but the wires do have labels on them if yall could help with this that would be awesome. Heres what I have the schematics for the blinker arm and wires

Yellow - Left Rear Turn
Green - Right Rear Turn
Brown - Hazards
Purple - Turn Flasher
Light Green - Horn Switch

Then they have 2 wires going to one connector the wires are tied togethor

White - Brake Switch and Orange - Third Brake
Light Blue - Left Front Signal and Dark Blue - Left Signal Indicator
Dark Blue - Right Front Signal and Dark Blue - Right Front Signal Indicator

Thanks

After being used to reading regular schematics, those ones you posted are really confusing.

I'm crossing my fingers I'm doing this right. Who knows ehh I hate wiring.

AMAZING....It did not work, Can anyone tell me how to run straight wires back to the the tail lights for brakes and blinkers and how to hook them to the blinker arm? oh and how to give power to the blinker arm.

Ehhh thats kind of confusing

Sry guys thanks.

You have several switches involved here.

headlight switch controls your parking lights

Brake switch controls brake lights

turn signal switch controls the TS--through the flasher.

You just have to compartmentalize here and not get overwhelmed.

Tackle one thing at a time; start with the brake lights.

I didnt look at your wiring diagram but that is key to getting a good start when you haven't chased this stuff down before.

I have the parking light and brake lights working....So my problem now is I have no power to my fuse on my fuse box.....What gives this power? or that spot cause I have power to everything else but the only ones that I don't have power to are turn signals, gauges, and ac....So how do I fix this?

Good job on the parking lights and brake lights; getting close!!

Heres the wiring diagram for my 73

Those are all things that come on when you turn the key on. So start there.

Yours may be different. But no matter what, in one form or another, the ign switch controls all of those items. Not an uncommon failure.

So if the wiring diagram is difficult, you can try and trace the wires on the jeep. I'm sure you'll end up back at the diagram though:D
