This is a follow-up question for the "On Board Air" question posted earlier.
The engine is now mine and I have had time to pour over it for a couple days. My question is on the orientation of the York compressor. The compressor is sideways as delivered from the factory. In most of the pictures of these compressors they are set in an upright position. There are lots of threaded holes for mounting the compressor. since the bottom of the York squar it would be no big deal to turn it so it is set upright like I see in the pictures. But, and there always seems to be a but somewhere, to set it up right would require the elimination of a relatively stout mounting plate. The compressor would be mounted solidly with the bottom bolts. So, when converting to on board air is the heavy plate holding the compressor sideways expendable? Would there be any harm in running the compressor mounted only on the bottom 4 mounting bolts?
Thanks
Michael
