So I went to dinner with the wife tonight and we pulled into a spot with a Porshe Cayanne SUV in the next spot. The wife test drove one awhile back and did not like it. So she said wow that's nice. I told her that you hated that vehicle. She looked at me with a straight face and said, well you Jeep is ugly. Let's face it. It's no Porshe.

Wow that stung. She has never even hinted that before. Well see if she gets to drive the CJ8 when it's done now.

I'm glad I got a gal that appreciates the older vehicles.
 
Oh she loves cars alot. That is why the comment shocked me. She actually prefers european cars though.

Women know of lots of ways to hurt you. ...," oh yeah... well you're FAT!" That should shut her down. I'm guessing she's not though, but most think they are.
 
OMG! You guys crack me up! If anyone of you tell your wife they are FAT, you should get released from the hospital sometime later this year! HAHA!
My husband wouldn't dare ask to drive my CJ!
 
My GF said something about the jeep being less than safe because it did not have a three point seat belt. I suggested if she didn't feel safe perhaps she should not ride in it, I would understand and not hold it against her. Was I understanding and sensitive or sarcastic?? You be the judge. :cool:

Yesterday morning my wife complained that her butt shook more now than it used to. Last night I thought of this thread and while on the couch I pushed her butt and called her Mrs jiggly butt. Oh she almost had a heart attack. Then I told her that I said it because she said my Jeep was ugly and now she nows how I feel. Yeah, that didn't pan out so well. She didn't think my Jeep and her butt should be a comparison but I did get her on the defence about why she thought my Jeep was ugly. So in the end I got her back but I don't think any booty calls will be in my near future.

My wife of 33 years stood in front of the mirror and started complaing .

Im getting old ,,,,,,,,, im looking really old ,,, my boobs are sagging , my butts sagging too . She turned and looked at me and said , well are you going to say anything nice ?

I thought for a moment and told her , yours eyes are still working good :D

I am amazed that you have been married for 33 years at 50 years old. You got marreid at 17 and it lasted. Impressive.

Ive had 3 females in my life, my high school sweetie and I co-habbed for about 10 years, she had me buy her a mint 82 CJ5 , back around 1988. She was wanting to drive my Jeep most of the time, and I don't share like that. She really liked jeeps, we don't stay in touch, but I'm guessing there a good chance there is a Cj in her garage today.

Anyhow, the second one, I spent 10 years with, I even had a "Jeep CJ only" shop for a couple years doing restoration work, in 10 years, her butt never graced the seat of a Cj, she did not like them, thought they where unsafe--yada-yada, of course she drove a Volvo... big surprise ? (which are kind of nice to work on when you are used to AMC garbage).

My present S/O asked me one day last month, she said "If Jeeps are such pieces of poopie, why do you like them so much ?"

I was lost for an answer, this is a very, very A-typical female. She a major gear head herself. So I had to think about it, and I came up with this answer, which of course is borrowed: "Its a jeep thing you wouldn't understand".

She's picked up on the fact that a "real" jeep in my eyes, is a tub, a dash, a column, and maybe a frame, and then parts from everyone else's bin.

Not sure if she thinks their ugly, but if I had to make a guess, Id guess so. But she wouldn't tell me that, it would be a bad exchange she would be starting, something to do with people throw rocks that live in glass houses....
 
called the wife thick once, didn't see her for two weeks.....then one of my eyes popped open!
 
I'd would have parked in the ditch and told her "Parking for Jeeps Only" let's see a Porche do that. Pfft...
 
I've loved Jeeps all my life, but she is right, they ARE ugly next to a Porshe.

Then again, so is my faithful companion, Rook, (Bulldog) and I love him more because of it.

Jeeps take a special breed (at least the old CJ's) to appreciate their inner beauty. Just like ol' Rook.

Be happy that you can still walk, talk, type and breathe.
