He may have been there but after the pic you show with the thermometer at 30 something you can be sure I was not going there. :D

What do think about the RR brake line? Replaced with generic line a bit too long?
My 3b with the same components as your 5 has a nicely routed line that follows the diff contour.
To add to the bag thing is to take lots of pictures for reference on the way back together, looks like your onto that though.:)

That was a very special rear brake line, It's in the trash can now. So far that was the only HOMER thing that I can across, I will post more pictures of today tear down.

Had a good day in the garage today I was able to get the brake lines off the master cylinder all the bolts are out of the rubber Transmission mounts getting ready to pull the engine and Transmission . The biggest pain in the A#$ was getting the rear draw bar assembly off Good news it is off without any broken bolts or fingers. Here's some new pictures from today's work.

It is time for an update. I got the engine out and started to pull apart the front end to clean and degrease the steering knuckles, so far everything is coming apart with no problems the frame is almost ready to go to the blasters to get sand blasted. I will post some new pictures today. :)

1960 CJ update. I got my Spicer 18 Transfer Case apart today and was able to find out why it would not go into high range, I need a new output shaft and a gear the shaft and gear are all chewed up not good, but everything else looks to be in good shape. It took two days in the parts washer to remove the 51 years of grease and dirt that had found a new home.:banana:

Time for an update. The frame is going to the blasters next Saturday to be blasted (can't wait to get it back) The tranmission and transfer cases are all apart and I will be ordering the new seal and gasket kits for them next week also must order a new main output shaft and the rear main gear. I have the engine all cleaned and if the weather holds out it should get a fresh coat of black engine paint tomorrow.

Coming along nice. It's motivating to see the freshened up parts coming back. I can't wait to see the frame.

I can't wait to see the frame once it has been blasted. I will keep everyone updated with fresh pictures. Happy New Year:oops:

Update on 1960 CJ5 I have the frame completely stripped and ready to go to the blasters in two weeks. I have the front Dana 25 all apart and started to clean it so I can give it a few coats of gloss black paint. I also started to pull the rear Dana 44 apart (what fun it was getting the hubs off of the axles even with the correct puller it took two days of soaking and a lot of paitence. I will post some new pictures in the morning. :)

:) OK it has been a few weeks since i have posted any updates. So here it is I picked up the frame today from the blaster and I must say for being 52 years old it is in very good shape, I will post a few pictures of the frame in the morning.
