Build Thread 1960 Resto Project

Build Thread 1960 Resto Project
I wanted to add a few of the before pictures. :)

If all goes well and my parts arrive we should be able to fire it up this week end. :):)

Looks really nice!
FYI I had to end up cracking the thermostat/ hose fitting to remove air from the system when I first fired mine, got hot right away.

Thanks Sasquach, I will keep your tip in mind when I fire it up, Really won't be running it very long just want to set timing and make sure I don't have any oil or water leaks then we start on the tranmission and Transfer Case and so on and so on. :)

Great news!!! Fire up the 134 yesterday, it started on the first crank no oil leals no bad sounds good oil pressure. Much more to do do it's good to know that all of my engine work has been a success. Will be moving onto the tranmission next.

If I may ask, you should be able to tell me where the holes are for the rear taillights?? I need the measurements for my '64.

looking good man. love all the pics. the rolling chassis looks great

If you can wait until I get back from vacation I will be more than happy to measure them and send a few pictures. I will be back on the 4th. Joe

It has been a few weeks since I have posted any up-dates or new pictures. Not much to report kinda busy at work and other things but I will get a few new pictures of the progress to date and post them this weekend. :)

So here are few new pictures of the 1960 CJ5 . The first picture is went I got it home in December I still have to finish the tranmission and Transfer Case but no hurry we have lots of time. :chug:

Very cool build.
I love to pure function no frills of the old jeeps

Thanks you have spurred me on to do my 1960 CJ6 . I only wish this forum was around 20 years ago when I pulled it apart! I have boxes of bolts, nuts and various parts all over the place. I suppose it will just make the rebuild that little more interesting. I hope?
