1966 Jeep Gladiator

i am looking to buy a 1966 jeep gladiator that is in decent shape and i was wondering if anybody knew anything about these and i have some questions.

is the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 350 v8 a good engine?

it has a ramsey PTO winch with a huge bumper on the front is that a special order from factory?

and the last is it was a camper special but should there be toolbox compartments in the side f the bed??

any info will help me thanks

The Buick Dauntless Buick 225 V6 engine was a 225 c.i. or 231 c.i. V-6. If it has a 350 c.i. its most likely a Chevy conversion. The Dauntless Buick 225 V6 or the Chevy is a good engine.

I couldnt really find anything on the winch option. Pics would help.

well the air cleaner cover was good and i dusted it off and it said Dauntless Buick 225 V6 350 and also on the fender it has 350 v8 and its factory

also i looked up that it was used from only 69-70 then discontinued but that was all i found

There were more than one Dauntless Buick 225 V6 engine. The Dauntless Buick 225 V6 350 v8 was made by Buick and put into jeeps.

My understanding is a "Dauntless Buick 225 V6 " engine is a Buick engine that was put into a Jeep at the factory. It may be a V6 or a V8. I don't know where the name Dauntless Buick 225 V6 came from.

To help decide if you should buy it we need to know the price and what kind of shape it's in. Can you post pictures? How much is it?

In the mean time I'm learning a little about the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 engine. It sounds like the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 V6 is a Dauntless Buick 225 V6 V8 with 2 missing cylinders. Sounds like parts are very interchangeable.

Dauntless V6
The Jeep “Dauntless V6″ is a 90 degree V6 designed by Buick in the early 1960s. All internal parts are interchangeable with the more familiar Buick 350, also called the “Dauntless V8″ by Jeep in the Gladiators and Wagoneers. The only parts that are not interchangeable are the crankshaft, camshaft, and valves. Kaiser purchased the right to the Buick V6 to use in Jeeps in 1965, in 1966 they started appearing in CJ-5s, 6s and Commandos as 1967 models.

Well the guy wants 600 but it has sat in a barn for 18 years up here in pa but before that the truck was from Colorado but the interior is immauclant but I tried to get it running but the bendix wouldn't work on the starter so it was a no go. All in all it's in decent shape it was a camper special I thought 600 was a great deal. The motor turned good by hand and the oil was a good color.
