okay, i'm totally new to jeeps and I am picking up my first project this week. it is a 1972 CJ5 frame with the AMC 304 , Dana 30 front and i think the AMC20 rear. i'm not positive on those front/rear axles but i think that is what it has. anyway, it is a complete frame that has been sandblasted and painted black, and has the 304 mounted along with the 3spd tranny. the only thing it lacks is a body, and tires.

however i have also located the body, which I am picking up this next weekend. the body is off a 71 cj5, and it is the tub with a pipe exoskeleton/full cage built around it and it also comes welded to a frame that is shortened for a coil spring conversion. i may or may not keep the frame that the body is welded to, but i will see when i get everything back to the house.

right now i am trying to figure out how i am going to get this frame off the trailer when i get it back to my house. it does not have wheels and tires. i am debating whether or not i should pick up some wheels and tires, but i do not know how big i want to go. the body i am getting comes with a 3" body lift, and i have been thinking about getting a 3" susp lift from rusty's offroad. i want to know how big of tires i could clear with just that 3" body, and also how big i could go with the 3"bl + 3" susp lift. thanks for the help. also, here are the links to pictures of the frame and body on Craigslist

First thing, get some "rollers"
Thats a set of the cheapest 235-15s to roll it around on

okay...just off craigslist or what? i really dont want to buy too many sets of wheels. if i could get one set that has the right bolt pattern and get different tires for it that would be optimum. i just havent had much luck finding wheels so far

Yeah, get some cheapies off CL. Save while looking for a good deal on what you ultimately want but at least you can move the otherwise large pile of parts.

72 CJ = 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern always good to keep a set or 2 of rollers around there always usefull:chug:
