dash is almost complete
Reinforced the rear tailgate filler and painted the inside
Finished the front end wiring. Passenger side parking light was working then it stopped. I've got to go through that wiring one more time
Interior is almost complete. Just need a tach, a tunnel cover and a cb radio and it's done. Also waiting on a few parts that should be here tomorrow for the dash

Haven't updated this in quite a while. I've driven the jeep a few times. It is not smooth from a start. My first inclination is the old *** clutch that's been sitting in it for who knows how long. I've got a brand new clutch kit arriving tomorrow. Going to install on Friday, along with all new seals and gaskets for my leaky Dana 20 .
Also ordered all new u joints for both driveshafts, yokes look good but the front is a little rusty and will eventually need to be replaced. Also finally ordered a gas tank filler neck so I can fabricate a new setup.
And Friday I'll be ordering the rest of the pre-bent tubing I need to finish the back half of my cage.
Got a wheeling trip set up for September so I'm trying to get it ready for that!
A better update w/pictures will be posted on Friday. It's mainly been sitting in the garage!

Another good update for the weekend. Transmission and Transfer Case are dropped and boy are they disgusting
Getting everything drained, mainly water in both
Old clutch out
New vs old (the throwout bearing difference is great)
New clutch and pressure plate installed
Can't get the Transmission and Transfer Case reassembled until my gaskets and seals arrive so I'll be thoroughly cleaning and painting them. New u joints and u joint clamps showed up yesterday, along with a new fuel filler neck and some other miscellaneous parts. Ordered the rest of my cage tubing Friday, next weekend should be a big one with tons to do!

Working on emptying the Transfer Case some more, luckily everything inside looks great
Rear output shaft assembly
Very old oil buildup in the bottom of the case
Intermediate gear and shaft assembly. Those needle bearings are going to suck. Anyone have some suggestions for getting this part back together again?

Getting some work done. Little bit at a time. Transmission and Transfer Case are back in and have a new friend to go along with them. A twin stick conversion kit
Started the fab work on the rest of the cage finally

All in all, it's finally starting to look like a real jeep again. Waiting on my driveshafts to come back from the shop and then it's driveable again. I also have a stinger on the way for me to finish up my front bumper fabrication. Only small issue I have is the throwout bearing lever fell off during the Transmission installation and I can't get it in the right position with the Transmission and bellhousing installed. I might have to pull the whole thing to get it situated correctly. Getting closer to trail ready though!

Got my front stinger in for my bumper build. Mocked it up
Finally finished getting the clutch adjusted. Runs good minus a small exhaust leak. Final touches tomorrow then she's headed up north for the hunting season!

This was taken during hunting season. Didn't drive it much due to the flooding issue and the rain.
Yesterday, I drove up to tow it home. 500 miles in one day is not fun
Got it home and finished the "garage" it's going to be stored in on the side of my house. Got plenty of projects to do on it over the winter
I'm hoping to get the fueling/tuning issue worked out soon and then I've got a few big projects coming like a spare tire carrier, front bumper build, body armor including tube fenders and then I'll be going through the suspension and hopefully adding some full size axles from a Scout. I've got a lot of work to do!

Stuck a fuel pressure gauge on it at the suggestions of Tarry99, 6lbs of fuel pressure just like spec. So I'm hoping my fueling issues are just carb related and it needs to be tuned
Then I started on some real small fan work to finally mount my winch plate and front stinger
Then I re-installed my front secretary and did a few more odds and ends. It needs a wash badly.

Goodbye old, rusted tank
Goodbye old, tired dizzy
Goodbye rusted, busted exhaust
New exhaust flanges
Flanges mocked up
New mufflers mocked up. Still need to finish welding everything and finish the exit location
New HEI Dizzy and 8mm pkug wires
Installing the dizzy
Finished product. I still need to clean up the wires
New tank
Tank installed. Still need to wrap up the filler neck
Overall, very happy right now. Jeep is running 100 times better, sounds better and I can fill the tank above 5 gallons again lol

At first glance, I thought new wheels for the 5. Those are the biggest flashiest atv wheels ever!
