1976 cj7 ignition wiring distributor change

I just purhased a 1976 CJ7 in reasonably good condition. It has distributor issues though. I purchased a 1984 distributor at the salvage yard and intend to change it out with the original. both are off of AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engines. I purchased new cap rotor ignition module for 78 through 86 model years. What I am finding a bit confusing is the difference between the old ignition module and the new ones wiring. the old one has 4 wires to a connector and one black ground and the new has 4 wires to one connector and 2 to another.
The wiring on the donor jeep was as follows, ignition module wires, three of the 4 wires go to the distributor and the 4th dark green one went to the dash panel fuse block. the other 2 one red and one white connected to the fuse block (note the white one changed to lite blue after the connector). Schamatics show the dark green going to the coil directly though in reality it connected to the fuse block and the 2 wires red and white going to the fuse block then the red to the coil and the white to the neutral safety switch/ ignition switch. Am i correct in assuming that everything connected to the fuse block is 12 volt hot and if so then 12v is going to both sides of the coil? I would like to wire the distributor as close to a stock 1978 cj as possible but the connections to the fuse block are confusing me. Also would any other components need to be changed I see a red wire on the semati witha 1.3 ohm resistance on the new system but not on the old what is this 1.3 ohm wire for and is it needed? In other words how do I make this bleeping distributor swap. Thanks
