1978 Autumn Red Cj7 Paint

Hi Folks, Anyone got an autumn red Cj and try and get the paint done. The paint code is 7C but when I got a sample can from the local paint show it looks like a pepper red. The paint on my Cj is a metallic maroon. I dont think it has been resprayed as this maroon color is consistant throughout the jeep.

i have sprayed the glove compartment and I will take a pic tomorrow and post up.

i know paint can differ by batch but this seems like a totally different color. Anyone get a 7C paint to match their original.

I think this is the color. Maybe the Ditzler or Dupont cross ref number will help:

Ya thats whay I went to the paint shop with. I gave them the American Motors and Year and and paint name and 7C came back on the computer which matched whats on my firewall. The color I got looks like the color sample in your attached image but that is not metallic maroon.

I suspend someone changed the tub on my jeep and maybe its an 81 Tub. The color is more like this.
