Hi friends

Im rebuilding a '78 CJ7 Golden Eagle and right now I am adjusting the carburator. It is carter bbd 2 barrel and I want some diagrams of oppening and rebuilding it.Anybody any experiences??!??!

oh! I'm new to this site, its very nice and use full. thank u all!

Welcome to the forum, from Oregon. A nice place to visit, 200 billion slugs can't be wrong.
I'm running a '78 too, albeit it's a CJ5 . If you have one of the AMC V8's I've had good luck with a "genuine" Carter AFB mfd. in the '70's. I've seen and heard many issues with those BBD's.

Good lookin' Jeep you have there. I considered geting a 7 when I got back into Jeeping several years ago, but remembering the fun I had with another 5 I had in my service days conviced me to stick with 5's

.
I don't know why my thread is here??!! I posted it in REBUILD forums but it appeared here! why??!
I want to post under rebuild pics but not here.
.
anyway whats your opinion about 4 bbl carb and manifold on AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? and any experiences?

thanks

I think a 4 bbl carb is to much for a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . I suggest a motorcraft 2100. :)
It has 2bbl carter carb but I think of 4bbl ... I'm looking for headers and 4 hole manifold ,and the cost of this project:eek:!! maybe after coloring ...
.
I have some projects in mind that should be done step by step...
.
when we were cleaning the carb...

Hi friends!
it's about a week that I am thinking of TBI system, here we can use 1980s GM parts for that. but today after installing the EGR my opinion completely changed!
It's great! really!..
I will post some pics for that ...
and I have a problem with Master Brake Cylinder in the output for rear brakes. It needs to be repair but I want to change it with a new one.
what's your opinion about J20 trucks master cylinder?

Yes! don't know? I'm a bee trainer!

Hi friends!
Repairing the master cylinder
First you need a rebuild kit and a diagram. I used AMC Jeep Rebuild Kit and my manual. Then you have to disassemble the cylinder; 1.push the master cylinder and take out the lock ring, the primary piston will come out.

brake master cylinder rebuild kit

After taking out the primary piston you have to check it's seals. Unfortunately my primary and secondary seals have problems!(in this post I attach a complete diagram of the master cylinder)I used kit and replaced bad seals. For the primary you need to disassemble the piston, separate it and replace the old seal with the new one.

Then you should clean everything and put them together. It's better to put your brake fluid in it on the ground and push the primary piston until the fluid comes out completely from the holes. after all it's time to install it ! don't damage vacuum hoses!!
