Does anyone have an exploded view of these hubs? I have a Haynes manual and it only shows the bearings washers and lock nuts.

My issues are with the actual hubs themselves (springs, gears, etc).

Being new to CJs, I just pulled apart the front hubs to take a peek.

First of all, the right side is different than the left side. I don't know if that is the way its suppose to be or not. (is it missing parts,? put together wrong?, etc...)

The CJ has not been driven by me and has been sitting dormant for about 8 years. It a 'project'...

Thanks in advance for any pics, videos, suggestions, directions...

They both should be the same. Did they work before you took them apart?

There is a number of brands for lockout hubs all with diff designs.

Common ones are selectro warn and avm What do you have. Someone may have put 2 odd ones on

Post a pic for an ID and then you can get some help, as said there's more than one make.

the trick to hubs is not to over lub them. too much grease and they will "hydro-lock" on you and not engage.

Sounds like someone replaced one. Maybe they blew one on a trail?

I've been known to shatter hubs. I must have 8 sets around here. Warn, Sears, Selectro, stock. Milemarker used to make one and since they have bought out Selectro. I used to carry a solid (no lockout) to replace a blown one. Earlier CJs had lockouts as an option.

Pictures would help us figure out what thebother one is.

PS. Ihave since gone to the internal style (Ford) and haven't broken one in 6 years.
