Replacing hoses on 1984 CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l no AC, but I can’t get an upper radiator hose that fits. I got an AC Delco 20055S and a Continental 71013, neither fit. The AC Delco, when attached to thermostat housing ends about 3 inches past (outboard) the radiator inlet, the Continental ends about 2 inches past/outboard. If I force to fit, the hose kinks, and cutting the thermostat side doesn’t look like it will work due to the angle, it will lower the hose and not pull it close enough to the radiator inlet. The setup looks original, and the radiator is brass. I’d like to stay away from the corrugated universal if possible (flow restriction and possible kinks due to the compound angles involved). The moulded one on there has “1011 49602” embossed, but I can’t get a cross reference. Has anyone run into this and found a moulded upper hose that fits?

The Gates # 20733 has a length of 17-7/8". The AC Delco 20055S has a length of 21". The Omix # 17113.11 shows to fit with positive reviews of the fit. I believe the Omix hose is a Dayco.

Adding onto this question. Has anyone found someone who makes the hoses that go to the heater core?? Thanks!

The 3/4 water pump to 5/8 heater core hose can be a pain. Here is a thread on it.

Thanks Buddy. I was looking into this a few years back, and ran into the same problem. The hoses I've got are old and dirty, but still work, so I'm going to hold onto them as long as I can. Really dont wanna be messing around with adapters.

Also good info on the link below with a NAPA part number.

Ive ordered this one (Amazon) for heater/thermostat (only one I could locate with correct sizing). Think its long enough for my particular setup to cut and use the smaller diameter 5/8 for the return line.
