Misc. Staying cool in South Florida

First thing I need to do is fix cooling issues. I am fine on quick trips but here in South Florida we are already in the upper 90's before do any distance I need to upgrade the fan. I "Think" the radiator is fine. I measured the core to be 15 1/2" tall x 24 1/4" wide x 2" deep. I did a lot of research and I think a Ford Contour Fan and a pair of Painless 70 amp fan relays with a 185 on 175 off and 195 on 185 off thermostatic switch should work for the heat here. I will need to remove the flex fan and extension, but once those are gone looks to be plenty of room. Anything I am missing or should look out for?

I also considered one of those ebay aluminum v8 conversion radiators with dual fans then replacing the fans with a quality brand name fans, but it got pricy quick with fans going for $AMC 150 per fan. The contour fan seems to be a good reliable budget minded solution. I just worry I will be able to trim the width enough to fit between the brackets.

The biggest problem you have is there is no fan shroud. Going with the Ford contour dual fan will help immensely. Here is a great thread on this exact question.

On my way back from P-Cola today I stopped at the upull and sweat and bled over a ford contour dual fan... It was not easy to get out at all, that engine compartment is tight. I am surprised they can put them together.
Two bolts held it in and then it pulls out. sounds easy but the motors run along somesort of ac line that is hard to break off. I had to stand on the engine and pull with all my strength. A buddy would have made life easier but after test fitting the fan it was definitely worth it.

I have been running a Taurus fan which is a single two speed fan. I had to cut the shroud...

Also, I love the ancient alarm horn on the driver's side fender. At least that is what I think it is...
Also the fake braided lines are 80s cool. I remember those times fondly.

BTW, if you don't have a junkyard that can supply the fan system - eBay works and even Summit has them.

Ha ha yeah, I had them on an old junk yard turbo build I did in the early 2000's. I will be removing them when I get the chance I never liked the way they looked. And now that I think of it, I dont think I have tried the horn yet.

But I think I changed my mind on the cooling. I think instead I will be getting one of the aluminum conversion radiators from ebay with a shroud and fans. https://ebay.us/m/WaVqr4 I think it will bolt up a lot cleaner and be "Ok" for now. After looking at the exisisting setup I think trimming a contour fan will be more work than I want to do and look hacked up. I will replace the cheapo fans with a pair of SPAL fans down the road. I should probably start a build thread.
