4bbl carb ?

I just bought a used Edelbrock Performer intake on Ebay. What cfm carb should I be looking for. It's a stock 304, the only upgrade is an HEI. I don't do any hardcore off roading. Mostly a "streeter".

When I bought my jeep it had a 750 CFM and it gave me fits. I changed to a 500 and it works great.

Unless you're running very high RPMs, you don't need any more than 500 CFM.

For a stock AMC 304 , I recomended a holley 470 cfm Off road carb. It's like EFI in the off road.

Ok, so you all agree that 500cfm is plenty. Would this be a good chioce?
Holley truck avenger 470 or do you suggest something different.

I ran a holley t/a for a while on my 350, it was ok but not great on the street, but I never liked it off road. (I love my tbi though)

I am running a 625 cfm Carter AFB , and it seems to do the trick quite nicely , but again I am running it on an AMC 360, so in the 500cfm range on the street should be plenty adequate I would think.
