Engine 5.3L LS Header Question

I'm putting a 5.3L LS engine in my '79 CJ7 . The exhaust manifolds hug the block very nicely, but I'm wondering if I can get away with using headers (space considerations). If so, any suggestions?

Yep, it can be done. Be sure to use some Kevlar mesh/wrap around the plug wires. I used a Camaro front runner system and a mini starter for space savers.
