I have a 350 V8 5.7 with a 700r4 automatic Transmission . 35" tires with 4.56 gear ratio. My jeep shifts from 1-2nd around 12 mph then 2-3rd around 20mph. Is this normal or should it be shifting to second closer to 20mph? I have a new TV cable installed and I've tried tightening the TV cable slightly but the shift points don't change. My concern here is the motor seems like it doesn't have much pulling power when it goes into 3rd. 1st and 2nd seem okay but 3rd is a dog.

I did change the cable drive gear from a 36 to a 33 tooth to fix the speedometer reading. It originally had a 36 tooth gear that attaches to the VSS and the VSS unit attached to a gear ratio device that was hooked to the speedometer cable. That gear ratio device was broken which is why I removed it and changed the teeth on the speedometer gear. Sooo I’m thinking the Control module is now receiving wrong input from the VSS causing the Transmission to shift earlier. Any thoughts? T.V. cable is new and set by the shop so I don’t think that is a problem.
