I'm thinking of rebuilding my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l using a 4.0 block and head but retaining the 4.2 crank and rods. There's a shop in NC that does it that way and they call it a stroker motor, that puts out 300+ HP.

Anyone familiar with this type of build?

There is plenty out there to read up on this subject. Just a Google search will give you a lot to read

A stroker like that sounds nice, wish it worked the other way so I could keep the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l in place.
