The Craftsman torx I have are 25+years old and USA made.
Don't know about the current ones.
The KD, S2 torx I have used were very well made.

May just go pilfer my Dad's supply of tools this weekend. He took all the good stuff from my Grandad's but he never uses them... Grandpa was a mechanical engineer for Gulf Oil, and a machinist. I got his chest- after Dad ransacked it...

Happy hunting-------:D

At a swap meet somewhere along the way I got a set of torx sockets that go on a 1/4" drive. They came in a little green metal box, I've used them and used them, wore out a couple 1/4" drives with them. The point being you don't necessarily need tospend a lot on torx sockets and they will be of useful for years to come. I don't like the screw driver torx drivers. As you noticed they simply don't offer the leverage needed for most jobs. ....... Once you are done toss the torx and replace them with something similar but easier to manipulate.

Over the years I have spent a lot of time on Snap-on and Mac tool trucks so most of my tools came from them. You get what you pay for. ;)

Just DO NOT buy the Autozone store brand!! they will end up looking like a left hand thread easy out.:D

Yeah, this has been eating on me all day. That Kobalt bit was made in Taiwan. I usually check that sort of thing on everything else I buy, from scisssors to food. Didn't think about it at the time, as that was the only T40 bit on the rack. I Definitely buy USA made whenever feasible, Local when possible...:patriot:

Hey Suz - Any news on the scrambler?

No. She's still sittin'. She's supposed to have been hauled off by now. Mike was out of town on business thru yesterday, so his boys probably just didn't get around to it :-)
I've been distracted anyway. My dog needed emergency surgery Monday. She's home recovering now. Will let y'all know when there's any news...

Noticed your absence, was worried we were out of line in some way. Sorry about your dog, hope it wasn't or won't be a long lasting health issue.

Hope'n for the very best with your 4 legged family member.

Thanx guys. Do not EVER think it's anything you said. I have an amazung sense of humor and can take Anything you dish out. Just going thru a personal :dung:-storm at the moment. I'm tough though.
My dog just needed an emergency spay. She's home & smiling again... Me too.

I'm glad she's with you and you're both smiling.

As for the storm, to put a spin on a maxim by Lieutenant-Colonel William Blacker "Trust in toilet paper and keep your humor dry."

Glad to here the pooch is recovering. :booze:

So, the news with my Jeep is that there's no news. The guys haven't come around yet to haul Pearl down to Mike's. This is week two, I believe. Not a problem though. What's cool is that Mike is going to put her in the "Private Bay" that he keeps aside for his projects, in case she needs to be there a while. They just have to finish up the fenders on the trailer currently sitting there. So, I'm actually kinda flattered... Patience is a virtue-
and I'll pretty much fall for any reasonable explanation ;-)
