I'm in Australia and have just imported a 1960 CJ5 to add to my collection. We were pretty gobsmacked to find that it arrived without a hand brake!
On inspection I found that the drum was on the rear of the Transfer Case and had a short piece of cable going to the cross member but someone? had used a bolt cutter and cut the cable right there.
There is no hardware of any other sort on the body.

Never having owned a CJ5 before I don't know if it has a handle or a foot pedal or even where it goes and how it attaches. Is it situated on the left or right of the steering column?

Who (which company), would be able to supply me with all the necessary parts to put it back together?

I'd hate to think what would happen to someone who got caught driving a vehicle in Australia without a functioning handbrake. If they didn't lock you up they'd probably seize your Jeep! :)

I contacted the jeep wrecking co in Antelope Valley CA (USA) and got the parts to redo mine. their name is J&W Auto Wreckers, they have acres and acres of jeeps, they even shipped new shoes and the correct springs and hardware
oh it works better than drum brakes
it took them a while to find the handle but they shipped it to me at a fair price

You're a legend BajaEdition!
I'll try to find their telephone number via the net, and if I can't, I'll get back to you.
Once again...many thanks!
