AMC Jeep Club

Hey everyone- while I am older than most of the folks driving Wranglers... I am too young to remember the details of the AMC Jeep Club. I see newsletters from the early 70s on eBay... I remember the Super Jeep logo but not much more. Can anyone fill in the blanks - how long was the Jeep Club around, when did it lose the factory support and when it did, did it fade away fast or do pockets still exist? Thanks!

I think what you may be referring to would be like the "Harley Owner Group" .That is just a guess. AMC did have a program in the early '70s
where they would replace a broken part on a AMC JEEPif it was damaged in competition.Back in the day when we competed in closed course off road race ,barrel race, and 100 yard drags.they had reps at the tracks.It didn't last very long but was a factory involvement in racing.I had a 1973 CJ5 at the time that I raced but never cashed in on there program.Sorry I can't be of more help. mike

Hey - thank you! And if you pictures of you racing a CJ5 back then, I would love to see them. I was still playing with Tonka Jeeps in '73 and think racing these on dirt tracks would be awesome.
