Anti-Diesel Solenoid - Why?

I am finishing up my CJ5 project for my son and cleaning up the engine bay. My Anti-Diesel Solenoid is broken off the mount and completely rusted. Can I just remove it and cap the wires. Pretty sure it's the factory solenoid from 1978 so probably not operational anyway and the Jeep has never had a dieseling issue. Thoughts.

Most of us except for the factory fresh restoration groups have removed all of the excessive wiring and solenoids so I would say yes. I have never had one in any of my Jeeps.
