The P.O. of my jeep did a u-bolt flip mod, so now the spring plates are on top of the axles (the springs are still underneath). He did this to prevent u-bolt, shock, & sway bare abuse on the rocks.
My question is this, has any body done this "flip" (or a spring over conversion) & re-connected the anti-sway bar? If so, how did you do it? I realize there will be some fabrication & modifications to the sway bar links, im just looking for some place to start... THANKS!

I've heard of this using 80 Dodge truck spring plates. Got any pics? Is this done on front only?

I dont have any pics, but I can get some tonight.... his were home made plates...........

I flipped mine, but I don't run a sway-bar, do you need one?

I dont know if I "do" need one... I've never had one on there, so I'd like to try & see "if" it makes a difference.

Heres the pic i promised

Which plate? The spring plate is 1/2" steel, & the steel rod that the link on the bottom threads to is 7/8 round rod. I even machined a 1/2 groove in the back where it can "ride" on the plate.... I hope its strong enough...lol

OH! If your talking about the l/8" x 1 plate that the clamp is on, that is temporary for mock-up / pictures. I'm going to weld the 7/8" rod to the 1/2" spring plate...lol... My bad

Looks good man.:chug:
