if your doing any restos tell your fellow jeepers what you have and maybe post a couple pics:chug:

I'll be starting on my CJ7 in a few weeks.
I've posted some pictures already, but here it is again.
I'm not sure I would really say "Resto", It's getting a Yj body and the frame's getting painted, a rebuilt engine, suspension lift, shackle lift, 33" tires...

I'm not going to truly "restore" it, atleast not to "factory".

Cj tubs are astronomical there a guy in my area infact where i bought my jeep that has a brand new CJ7 tub form willys overland they manufacture prefabricated tubs and he only wants 2000 for it A STEAL!!!! and i am doing a 77 CJ7 Golden Eagle i have a doner jeep in my drive and both are striped

Yikes!
It's crazy what they cost.
I considered a fiberglass body, until I realized it would blow my whole budget.

A friend of my brother's has the Yj, it's just a parts Jeep, but it should have some usefull parts in it.
He just wan'ts rid of it, he'll even deliver it, all for $100.:D

Nice looking Jeep Btw
What are your plans for it?

just to cruise and take to car shows and sometimes take off road the tub and frame are shot but i have a doner jeep im using the tub off of and i have an extra frame it will have 5 inches of lift and '33 super swamper ltb bias tires i cant wait what are u figuring to do with your CJ7 ?????

Well, I think I'm going with a 2.5 suspension lift, 3/4" shackle lift(it's already done in the back, but not the front for some reason), I think I'm going to get a rebuilt AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , and all the other little things they all need.

It's going to be my daily driver, but I also plan to do a good bit of off roading.
Anything from just easy trails to scraping down deer trails/fire breaks, to slopping around in the mud.:chug:

But I am going to try and make it nice, I don't know that it will be show worthy though.

I'm not sure what kind of tires I'm going to use, probably whatever fairly aggressive tires I can find in good shape on craigslist for a bargain.
I don't want to use boggers or swampers or anything that aggressive, mud terrains or something like that would be nice.

Ltb bias tires are well for 34s theyre like 165 idk what tire size ur running but the cheapest is like 131 i think im not sure go on to quadratec.com and you can get a good quote:chug: i actually have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l i really want another AMC 304 if i do a Renegade new fuel pump starter and six new sparkplugs but 258s are really good engines

I'm planning to use 33" tires.
Ocassionly there are some nice tires on craigslist, on rims for like $350, if I was going to use new tires, I'd probably use treadwright.com there retreads but everybody seems to like them.

yea i was gonna consider those for my 99 but i got sport kings instead i didnt know how they would be i put already 4000 miles on my jeep and i havent even had it for a year

You still might consider treadwright, If I remember right, they do have a pretty good warranty.
