Has anyone ever made a clutch rod with heim joints on the ends to replace the one that goes from the pedal under the dash to the bell crank at the frame?

Mine is so worn down after 40 years that it's almost worn through the bell crank mount. I'm going to talk to my machinist in the next couple weeks when I can get some time and see if he can thread the ends of my existing rod to fit heim joints on the ends so there's no more wear on it.

Just curious if anyone has done this or seen it done before and might know some do's and don'ts.

Thanks

Rugged ridge also makes a kit, which is what I used. I had enough pieces to do the rod from the pedal to the bell crank and from the bell crank to the clutch fork.
