Just as the title says. I found a 77 chief in Binghamton on CL. The CL ad had no pics so I called and the guy said that since the ad went up he had cancelled his internet and couldnt email pics. His son cam up with the idea to pull the pics up on the computer screen and snap a photo of the photo with the camera on his phone. I got him to take some pics of the fenders and the truck the next day with his phone.
I am very tempted to make a deal. He claims it is completely rust free and that the under carriage is so clean that even the springs look brand new. Also he says the interior has recently been done as well as a jasper engine rebuild. He admitted he isn't a jeep guy and a few years ago saw this for sale and got a wild hair to buy it because it was so nice. Him not being a jeep guy concerns me. All of us here have been neck deep in these things at one point or another and for someone who isn't as well versed as us a minute problem to him may be a huge problem for us.
If this is what he claims it would be a great cherokee. I just find it hard to imagine a 77 chief without some paint bubbling or surface rust somewhere. I am not trying to request anyone handle money for me but it would be nice if I could get a neutral set of eyes on it to hear it run and check it out for potential rust issues and kick some tires.
