I'm moving to Scottsdale next week. I'm thinking about having my 1984 CJ7 shipped out there, too. But the emissions laws are very strictly enforced, and my Jeep doesn't have any of the emissions equipment.

If I find someone who can install the equipment, will I stand a chance of passing? If not, will it at least qualify for a 1-year waiver (< 2x allowed pollutants).

Does anybody know of any Jeep emissions experts in the Phoenix area?

Should I keep it registered out of state and take my chances?

Should I just give it up and sell it?

Any info would be much appreciated.

After 25 years here you can register it as a classic or historic vehicle which would be emissions except.By all means keep it.Arizona is one of the few states you can just about pull off anywhere and wheel.

You can contact them thru the above link and a lot of info there.
Cops frown on out of state cars after 30 days.Tucson and Maricopa Cty are the only emission countys in the state. So if you had a friends address our bought property in other countys you can register it there.
