Back of Fiberglass Tub

My son and I picked up a 79 Jeep CJ5 that has a fiberglass tub. The back is driving me crazy! It is like a giant white billboard! Since there is no back gate, it is just a solid wall. Any creative ideas, other than cutting it all up? The tub has never been painted so will get a paint job before long. Would like to know if anyone else is bothered by the issue. The only thing I can think of is putting a new rear bumper with a spare tire holder to full the gap. Seems like a pricey solution. Thanks all!

That is what I did. I put a bumper for a 76 and tire swing (didn't need the swing no damn door) on my 75cj. Now I am going to change the rear lights so they match the year I have.

I have a tire carrier also, I figured I needed a spare and didn't want to hang it off the body.

My '83 stock tub didn't have a tailgate. With a spare tire back there it will look just like every other CJ.

Thanks guys, that is what I figured. He is thinking about Poison Spider bumpers so also was considering one of their large logos. I think the spare is the best route myself.

Aboslutely. I bought a tomken and don't buy one you have to drill all the holes yourself. What a pain

I wasn't sure how it would look with a big Jeep decal. I wonder if we can get a good artist to paint a good 3d tailgate? I guess the other option would be to take a saw to it but not sure that is a good idea... hate to see the tub split in half!

I never saw a point to a tailgate on a CJ5 if you have a back seat. There's no room to put anything behind the seat anyways.
