Ran Super Swamper TSL's and got good mileage.
But the key is regular rotation or they'll wear out
quick and uneven.
I've heard good things about the KM2.

I'm currently looking ar the Super Swamper trxus MT for the wifes jeep.

Basically the same tread as a TSL just closer together, more like the BFG MT and my old favorite Bridgestone Dueler MT's.

X2 on regular rotation. I also run a pound of BB's per tire for balance with no wheel weights. I have a buddy running "LTB's" he likes them, the tread is real deep. Sure are a lot tighter than "TSL's" though.

alright so whats is there best mud tire that will last on the the street?
45k is an awsome number, link me please

As far as noise is concerned, I can't hear them over "The Mighty 401 V8"
Having the weight closer to the out side edge of a spinning mass works better.
Your tires are rebalanced ever time you start, even with chunks missing, rocks in the tread or mud stuck on the side walls. The 1pound thing is for my setup smaller tires and wheels use less. Long haul truckers have been doing this for years, they use a polymer powder that goes in through the valve stem. I just prefer weighing out the BB's, puttig them in a "Zip-Lock" bag
and toss them in before I seat the bead. Hey it works for mr what can I say?;)

I typo'ed that post it was suppose to say 45K+or-, but close enough.;)

Don't forget to stay aware of your tire pressure. You cannot look at my rig and tell. I have to be below 20PSI to see any sidewall bulge.

so what are their best tires? TSL bias?

Well let me get back about the km2s, mainly because of the tire you described, you will not find any better. So here goes
I am about to go to Cal 4 Wheel Drive convention last February and look at the tires on my TJ. THAT year we are having it in Primm Nevada which is about 20 feet across the Ca/NV state line right next to the Mojave Preserve.
So a friend of mine, Del, had seen my Baja Claws in November when we were at Hump and Bump n Nevada and suggested I get a set of KM2s. Well I really needed tires and was going to be driving 220 miles just to get there so I decided to get a more road friendly tire as suggested.
Firsrt day there we went out on the directors run which went high up in to the Mojave Preserve. Ran the tire through a lot of regular trail till we got above snow line, then was the 3rd jeep and was breaking helping breaking fresh snow on the trail, was having a blast and sticking like glue. We ran snow for close to an hour till we got lower down and found a section of road that was a mile long mud puddle. What happens when you get14 jeeps of guys who see each other 3 or 4 times a year out and find a giant mud puddle. Yep, we decided to leave no surface uncovered. Once again great grip and cleaned it self really good.
After we aired back up we ran to the hotel and I asked Del, who lives next to the Rubicon Trail how his KM2s did there. He raved about them, said they gripped rock like gloves.
We got back home and the next weekend I took the Jeep out with teh wife for a trip up over the John Bull where we marched right up the gate keeper like it was a biginners run and never looked back. Since then I put around 3 trips on that Jeep and never have had a complaint about the tire.
Snow, All Terrain work, Mud, Rocks and Road work and I have not had a complaint. I am rough on tires on that Jeep, Judge them by how many seasons I can get out of them not how many miles, I think these things will be on it for a long time, Just a great tire. It will be my pick for best tire for a long time

I go with BFG radial TA all terrains every time. this is the best both world tire there is.
exceptional traction, excellent mileage and you can hear your self think on the street. and if you buy a et right now I think you can get a $70 rebate on them.
Like the man said its all personal preference but I truly believe this tire gives me the most bang for my buck.
and the look good.

Look for BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO tires by size in the Dallas East Area - Discount Tire/America's Tire

and of course

Look for BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM tires by size in the Dallas East Area - Discount Tire/America's Tire

IOport hit it on the head, I am a all terain fan myself, I have run them on my daily drivers for years, can't think of a time I have been stuck with them, they wear great, little to no road noise, just a great versitile tire IMO. I would have put them on the Jeep but I went more aggresive as it was going to be 95% off road.

The KM2 looks baddass!! I do like the looks of it.

LT325/60R15C2 106Q W this should translate to roughly a 33 inch tire I think. for $240 each, not too bad. you say the side wall is tough enough?? The tread looks agressive enough.

I'm not knocking BFG, but I like to "Buy American" if I can. I have heard lots of good words on the" KM2's, Baja's & Krawler's ". Where I live they ballup fast & have a hard time cleaning out. I understand mud is different everywhere you go. I know the "Allterrains" wear like iron, but I've never seen one make any progress in the mud around here. I guess it's just one of those opinion things.;)

longhorn is right, this started out as an opinion thread and it still is . kind of like the best bullet calaber of breed of dog. I do admit that there may be better mud tires than the BFG, but the question was for best all arround. I don't think WR wants all arround I think he wants major knarly noisy mud tires and if the swampers will last for 45 K they are a good choice.

km2s are called a mud terrain, lots more aggressive than an All Terrain, Like The MTZ by MT it is a tire that is more aggressive than a AT but not as aggressive than a full blown Mudder. Kinda like a new class of tire emerging from the tire gods for those who want more than a AT. Personally I think the FCII by pinkie Cepek one of teh best ATs out there, and they wear like iron. However they slick over so fast in mud it will make you laugh. KM2s clean up fast and do grip in mud as a mudder should. Out here our acid test is rocks, the west is overgrown with rock gardens and if it does not rock, we will not roll with it. AYs will rock but Mudders rull on the rocks. The MT Baja Claw was one of the best rock tires I ever used plus it was a great tire in sand, something else we have lots of out here. But then look at it's name, it was designed for us.

I think you nailed the desire aspect.

You hit the nail on the head:chug:
And the KM2's are MORE expensive then the Super Swampers
But what's the differenct beteween the radial and the bias?
LTB | Interco Tire i like those sidewalls but do you need studded sidewalls?
and the bias TSL Bias | Interco Tire look more knarly then the radial TSL Radial | Interco Tire?
TSL SX | Interco Tire mis that just the radil with the side knobs?
thanks I apprecaite yalls help if you were down here i buy yall a round
