Hey guys, I recently bought a Soft top for my 79 CJ7 . I had a hard too on it but in summer I would like to take the hard top off. I got the windshield channel that it needs along with the soft top. I put the windshield channels on and that was no fuss. I put the soft top on and I followed the instructions that came in the box. The thing I'm stuck on is the part that it says to insert snap studs on the corners of the windshield frame. The top is in the windshield channel pretty securely. There is no place to put the snap stud on the corners.

Maybe someone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I got it from Amazon and would just send it back otherwi

I found a location for the snaps on the inside of the windshield frame to hold the bikini top in a centered location. I would also suggest putting a few more screws on that windshield channel as driving into a headwind at highway speeds really put a load against the softop.

Thanks for the reply! Can you maybe tell me more about what you did? Maybe a photo or two? This is really starting to get to me, I can't figure it out! I'm thinking that I may just send it back and keep no top on it even though driving towards the sun is the worst.

I used steel pop-rivets to hold my windshield channel in place. Still working 30+ years later.
These are the steel rivets, NOT alum.;)

It would be best, if you post up a few pictures of your setup so we know for sure what's, what.
The snaps go on the outside forward radius of the windshield frame.
