for my dads '99 Tj, we picked up a really nice set of Goodyear Wrangler R/T tires. theyre about 95% tread. got them off an old racing jeep that hasnt raced in 10 plus years. they were stiing in a pile in a corner of the building. theyre the 31x11.50 size. i know they made the 36x12.50 for military use but from the research i have pulled off, theyre over 15 years old. they offer an aggressive look with good traction in the deeper mud. so the real ? is: are these tires a good choice for a vehicle that will have about 2000 miles a year on it? there is no dry rot or cracking. like i said theyre in amazing shape, and if they had a 33x12.50 size, they would definitely be on the Cj! are they a good or bad choice? from my research guys have been saying theyre too old to run on the road, even in good shape. What do you guys think?

The only dealings that I've had with the M/T's is at work on both HMMWV's and our boat and other trailers. They seam to last forever, the tread compond is ridiculously hard, it tends to wear evenly. There are some of our HMMWV's that still have them on them because they've still got good tread on them and some of our boat trailers have them on them too, and the boat trailers are 3 axle traiers pulling a 22,000lb boat.

Now, that's the larger 36x12.5x16.5 that we run, I don't know if the tread compound was different in the smaller tires.
