hi, I have a 65 tux park cj5a all stock, no roll bar. don't plan on ever putting on a roll bar, but I do want to use a bimini top from time to time. Do I need to have something custom made? I know a boat cover fabricator guy, but this is a last resort. Wondering if anyone has any examples of what type (brand/make/any info) of top(s) are my options. Also, do I need to fab up a tube for the back part to attach to, coming off the windshield? Or can I use my soft top bars/frame that I still have on the jeep? any help on this is appreciated.

See attached photo to see the bars I have on there now. It seems too high?

thanks- Chill :chug:

How can you have one without the other? A bikini top connects to the windsheild frame and rolls over the bar and straps to the rear of the tub. Any other top uses bows and needs to be an entire package to stay errect

Whats up with the boat top shop? Just say'in if it where me that is the FIRST place I would go. If you look at a boat top the bow is held with a strap to the rear(same as bikini top) . A bow ,couple snaps, top, straps and two footman loops and yer done.:D Mike

ps: let's see pics when your done.

really, nobody here has a bikini top on their early CJ without a roll bar? I though I would get sorts of help and support here?! :(

Chill :chug:
Folks probably didn't know what a bimini top was, a bikini top, well thats something different. I've gotta say, I like the looks of my '75 much better without the roll bar, but the small margine of safety a stock roll bar offers is more than most are willing to give up for looks. So, if you are going to need a support for your bimini (bikini) top, why not use a roll bar?
